Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is released in cinemas on May 6, 2022.
Aside from the ongoing earthquake in the upcoming Marvel schedule, we have a release date that should hopefully stick to Doctor Strange 2: May 2022. Fans will no doubt be thrilled to return to Strange to see what he does since the Spider-Man movie: No Way Home.
Surprisingly for MCU fans, Dr Strange's trailer in the Multiverse of Madness was released with the title Spider-Man: No Way Home's post-credits scene, before Marvel officially released it online on December 22, 2021.
So with what we have now, we can finally pick up more about what is to come. Here is all we know so far about Dr Strange in Multiverse of Madness.
Doctor Strange 2 release date: When does Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness come out?
long story short, Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will hit theatres on May 6, 2022, replacing Thor: Love and Thunder postponed to July 8, 2022.
It means that another current poem will be released a year after its release originally scheduled for May 7, 2021, which was postponed to March 25, 2022. I hope this new date will stick.
The filming took place between November 2020 and April 2021 with short delays due to additional restrictions in the UK. There was a regeneration that was completed in September 2021 and now, as mentioned, there was another cycle that ended in January 2022.
That re-emergence has nothing to worry about, and Benedict Cumberbatch explained that it was to do both to improve their abilities and to shoot things they could not do before because of COVID.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latest round of re-shooting was the result of the success of Loki and No Way Home, urging Marvel to "be very happy with the multiverse".
So expect some cameos and amazing characters to follow if that is correct.

Our first look at the poem stopped and included a big surprise that Strange Supreme from What If ...? will be like a movie. As Mordo warns Strange: "I'm sorry Stephen. I hope you understand the biggest threat to our universe is you."
And it ends with a mockery of the second character Cumberbatch he plays on the go. More on that below.
Doctor Strange 2 Multiverse of Madness cast?
Benedict Cumberbatch, of course, returns as Dr Strange. You will play a dual role in the movie as the first trailer reveals Strange Supreme also has a role to play in the movie.
Cumberbatch will be joined by the regular MCU face series and we will start with the most exciting: Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff.
It was confirmed back at Comic-Con 2019 that Olsen would once again play his role as Wanda Maximoff, whom we should now call Scarlet Witch, after the spectacular events of WandaVision.
Olsen joked that WandaVision's finale is "a perfect combination of my character" in a row. However, he also confirmed that he had not received the story of Doctor Strange 2 until two weeks before the WandaVision was wrapped up.
He said: “I really wish there was a plan that someone could quickly share with me [laughing].” With WandaVision's post-credits seeing him read Darkhold, does that mean Scarlet Witch will be a rival in the movie?
In any case, Olsen has confirmed that he needs to have seen WandaVision: "Without WandaVision, Dr Strange would not have made sense. I feel like it fully leads to where we found him. It sounds like it is completely connected to the series."
Can Olsen be joined by his WandaVision star Kathryn Hahn? It has been confirmed that Hahn will return as Agatha Harkness to the spin-off show and, surprisingly, the deal is said to see her play a role in MCU films.
Considering his relationship with Wanda, it would make sense that Dr Strange's sequence would also expose Agatha, but that's just our guess at the moment.
Chiwetel Ejiofor confirmed in June 2020 that he would follow suit as Mordo after a summary of the building had confirmed it anyway. The main ideas are whether he will return as Dr Strange's hesitant partner (especially if the Scarlet Witch turns 'crazy' that creates the original variant), or he will become a second opponent in Nightmare, as many heroic films have a lot of bad luck.
Many speculated that Rachel McAdams might return as Strange's beloved Christine Palmer, and it was officially confirmed in December 2020 that she would return, along with Benedict Wong as Wong.
The trailer shows Christine getting married, but it doesn't look like Strange is a lucky person to marry ...
Baby-Sitters Club star Xochitl Gomez joins the cast as America Chavez, a favourite of comedians, and regular Sam Raimi Bruce Campbell has commented on the role played in the series.
As for the return of Tilda Swinton as an Elder, she is technically dead so it is very unlikely that we will see her in Doctor Strange 2. But again, various insanities so you will never know.
Also, following Loki's last major disclosure, we would be surprised if Jonathan Majors (who is currently the only one confirmed by Ant-Man: Quantumania) did not appear in some way as one or more variants of the One Who Remains.
Speaking of Loki, the ending of that game meant we could see Tom Hiddleston from Doctor Strange 2 again. According to the Hollywood Reporter, "was expected" to appear and Middleton was in London during the match.
Then again, you live in London, so it might just be a coincidence. View this space.
